Anne Agumanu Chiejine , the trainer of the Super Falcons’ Goalkeepers has stated that the team will shock many souls at the Germany 2011 World Cup.
The Super Falcons had earlier been grouped alongside Germany, the current defending Champions who also thrashed them 8-0 in a friendly match played recently. This has aroused fears in some quarters that the Falcons may not be able to qualify from the tight group which also has France and Canada.
Speaking on this, Agumanu-Chiejine stated that grouping Falcons alongside the defending Champions is a good omen.
“We’ll qualify from the group and post astonishing results that will shake the world. The girls are determined to give their all. With more friendly matches, we will knock them into an awesome team that will confront the world,”she said.
According to her,“one good attribute of the team is that we are like one family. We are ready to do things for ourselves.”
.She said that the Falcons coach Uche Eucharia “has the Midas touch and commands the respect of the players because she played the game and knows her coaching job.”
