ABUJA—President Goodluck Jonathan has nominated Hon. Justice Pius Olayiwola Aderemi, JSC, CON, as the new chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and other offences Commission, ICPC.
If confirmed by the Senate, Justice Aderemi would take over from Justice Emmanuel Ayoola whose tenure has expired.
In a letter to the President of the Senate, President Jonathan said the nomination was in line with the provisions of section 3 of the Corrupt Practices and Other related offences.
President Jonathan urged the Senate to consider the confirmation expeditiously.
By this nomination, Justice Aderemi would be the third chairman of the ICPC after its pioneer chair, Justice Mustapha Akanbi, handed over to Justice Emmanuel Ayoola.
