Heavy military presence in Warri as Sapele is shut down

There is a heavy military presence in Warri, Effurun and Sapele metropolis as Vanguard correspondent and others were delayed for about 20 minutes Warri and over 30minutes in Sapele.

The situation in Sapele was tough as every electric pole distance, there is a military checkpoint.

Where there is no Army checkpoint, you are accosted by a navy or police checkpoint.

The stern looking officers at Effurun roundabout led by a female Major maintained that no journalist is allowed to move on election day as there is a total ban on vehicular movements.

After a series of explanation and appeals, the media team were allowed with stern caution to stay in one spot.
