At least 22 people were killed Sunday in a tornado in the southern US state of Alabama, US media reported citing the local sheriff’s department.

“We are at 22 right now. Unfortunately, I feel like that number may rise yet again,” NBC affiliate WRAL-TV quoted Lee County Sheriff Jay Jones as saying.
