The lawmaker representing Warri Federal Constituency, Mr. Daniel Reyenieju, has rejected the outcome of the National Assembly election in his constituency, describing is as fraudulent.

Reyenieju, who contested on the platform of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, said the exercise was characterised by the award of votes to the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi.who was declared the winner.

He, however, said the outcome would not stand, accusing the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and security agencies of aiding alleged rigging in the area.

His words:  “We have never had it so bad since 1999 whereby the specifics of procedural democracy and all its appurtenances were ridiculed and upturned within the cartographic space of the Warri Federal Constituency by those saddled with the responsibility of supervising the whole process. The reported victory of the PDP candidate into the House of Representatives is nothing but a pyrrhic one that will never stand the test of time.  We would be compelled to prove to the world how votes in the Warri South-West, Warri North and some part of Warri South Local Government Areas were appropriated with brazen and crude madness to the PDP Candidate, Chief Thomas Ereyitomi.”
