A statement yesterday by the apex Itsekiri body, Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, ILOT, signed by its Chairman Chief Edward Ekpoko and the Public Relations Officer, Chief Tony Ede, said:  “We hereby condemn INEC’s illegal and unconstitutional act of re-delineation of the  10 wards  in Warri South Local Government Area in 1998 to 12 by merging some existing wards and at the same time breaking others into smaller units; and its refusal to obey orders of competent courts directing it to revert to 10 wards  since 2006. The recent Court of Appeal decision in Suit No. CA/B/482M/18 delivered since October 23, 2018, on the same issue is still being ignored by INEC.”

“Be that as it may, we implore Nigerians, especially indigenes of Warri to remain calm, peaceful and co-operate with INEC on the rescheduled dates.”

We call on all to come out and vote for the parties and candidates of their choice.

‘’We condemn the selective adherence to court’s judgment by INEC nationwide. It was swift to implement judgment in Rivers and Zamfara States given less than two  months ago but that of Warri South Local Government Area delivered since 2006 and re-affirmed by the Court of Appeal since  October 23, 2018 is yet to be implemented by INEC.”
