THE Lagos International Trade Fair Complex under the management of Aulic Nigeria Limited has gone into partnership with members of Importers Association of Nigeria (IMAN) to establish Aulic Bonded terminal .
Disclosing this to newsmen in Lagos IMAN’s President Onuchukwu James said that the location of the facility right inside the complex was strategic as it would reduce the problems importers go through to take delivery of their goods. Onuckukwu stated that besides targeting the businesses at the trade fair complex, traders at the Alaba International market will also find the facility useful as its closeness to the business center will be an added advantage.
He explained that the idea to establish the bonded terminal at the Trade fair Center was as a result of loses importers and investors incurred during the era of port congestion, a develop-ment that led to the auctioning of more than 15,000 containers loads of goods abandoned at the ports .
The idea of the Trade fair complex came in handy when the group proposed to Government to move some of the affected containers to the complex which made members of the group to set up a facility with a view to easing the bottle necks importers go through when clearing their containers.
Onuchukwu assured traders and importers of the fact that the facility will facilitate their businesses as there is also a three star Hotel, 24 hour banking services, while the officer of the Nigeria Police Force mount a 24 hour security surveillance in and around the area.
His words “ This is a place where you come into to play, do business, sleep and bank and change your monies to currencies.
“We have all the security agencies present here at the premises, we have the capacity to handle oversize cargoes. “We offer a total logistics solution to Nigerians who are into the business of importation and trading”
