Edo ACN congress begins Dec 2

By Simon Ebegbulem
BENIN—THE Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN, in Edo State, has fixed December 2, 2010,  for the commencement of its congresses.

Consequently, the leadership of the party has warned its members against playing contrary to the rules of the party and vowed to discipline any member found wanting.

Vanguard learnt that after the ward congresses on December 2, local government areas would take place on December 5,  and state congress on  December 11.

The Secretary of the Disciplinary and Arbitration Committee of the party, Mr Musa Friday, who confirmed the dates to Vanguard, urged all members to cooperate with the leadership of the party led by its chairman, Prince Tony Omoaghe in order to have successful congresses.

Disclosing reasons why the party set up the Disciplinary committee, Mr Musa explained that “in recent times, it looks like some party members were going astray and forgot that we have a Governor at the helm of affairs, who does not tolerate indiscipline.”

We are appealing to our members to respect the rule of law now that we are embarking on these congresses.

“This committee was set up to ensure a smooth working relationship between the legislature, Executive and the party leadership. We are happy that we have a government that is performing in the state therefore we would not want any of our members to derail the progresses made so far in consolidating democracy and good governance in the state by the Comrade Governor” he stated.
