WARRI — OGBE-Ijoh and Diebiri oil producing communities in Warri South-West Local Government Area of Delta State,  have called on the Acting Governor of the state, Prince Sam Obi, to urgently dissolve the Interim Management Committee, IMC, of the state-owned oil intervention agency, DESOPADEC and probe its activities, since its inauguration by former Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan within seven days.

They said  that the Commission created by law does not recognise the existence of any Interim Management Committee but a board, comprising a Chairman and eight Commissioners and as such, it was an illegal management team that is runing  the agency.

They expressed regret that with the existence of the illegal IMC, the oil bearing communities no longer have any genuine representation in the Commission.

They particularly wanted the IMC probed because according to them, since the inauguration of the Committee they have not done anything tangible by way of project execution yet they get their subvention regularly, wondering what they do with all the monies for the past four months.

While stating that the IMC be dissolved within seven days, they assured that they might be force to take their destiny into their own hands if their demands are not met.
