Direct On PC limited (DOPC), an Internet and Intranet Services Provider in Nigeria has announced it will shortly launch its Unwired Mobile 4G Broadband Services.
Owners claim the new service with speed and portability features will usher in better internet experiences as well as stimulate growth and development in organizations and institutions in many sectors of the economy.
Mr. Mahesh Sadhwani, Vice Chairman and Mr. Anurag Garg, Managing Director of the company who confirmed the deployment of the new technology said the company expects to have over 50,000 customers in the first phase of roll out in Lagos, followed by Abuja and Port-Harcourt. He said DOPC is the first company in Nigeria to launch this platform in the 2.3 GHz frequency, which has vast technology advantages over other frequencies.
Commenting on the planned launch, Sadhwani said, “a simple plug and play indoor modem or a USB dongle is all that is needed to self-install and get started.
Once fully deployed, another unique feature that customers will enjoy is the ability to use the same account in multiple cities i.e. Lagos, Abuja and Port Harcourt. Hence they will carry their internet with them. Further each unit will come with a land line number enabling to have telephony on the go”.
Garg confirmed that several financial institutions and enterprise customers were looking forward to availing dedicated virtual links on the new 4G networks architecture running Multiprotocol Label Switching (MPLS). DOPC will offer specialized services to customer needing to create a “Wi Fi Cloud” from a single floor to a whole building or campus.
“Aviat Networks is very excited to work with Direct On PC,” said Trevor Burchell, Aviat Networks vice president sales and service, Africa Region.
