ABUJA — Governor Sullivan Chime of Enugu State has accused the national chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Dr. Okwesileze Nwodo of foisting an immoral dictatorship on the party saying the crisis in the State chapter arose from Nwodo’s insistence on sacking the ward officers who gave him the waiver to be readmitted into the party.

Chime in a letter to the National Secretary of the party, Alhaji Aabubakar Baraje, equally accused the National Chairman of deliberately aiming to sabotage the PDP’s quest to rectify objections to the constitution of the state executive of the party as initially raised by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC. Besides alluding that the constitution of the Enugu State executive was defective, Chime also accused Nwodo of packing the PDP’s legal team on the case with lawyers known to be opposed to him, Chime.

The letter dated, November 9, 2010 was Chime’s first known official response to the crisis over the reported decision by INEC that a fresh congress be conducted to elect a new executive for the State chapter of the party in Enugu. The governor equally asserted that the crisis in Enugu did not arise from the INEC decision but from subtle efforts by Nwodo and some associates to hijack the party affairs in the State.
