SENIOR Special Assistant,  SSA,  to the President, on National Assembly matters Dr. Cairo Ojoughoh,  has condemned the recent twin explosions that rocked the Delta State Government Guest House, Asaba describing the incident as unfortunate and called on security operatives to do all within their powers to bring the culprits to book.

He enjoined all Deltans to be more vigilant and take the issue of security of lives and property as the collective responsibility of all especially now that the Nation was preparing for the 2011 general elections.

Dr. Ojougboh who spoke in Agbor, the Headquarters of Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State, argued that the perpetrators of the dastardly act were cowardly,  saying that no reason could justify such an action.

The SSA to the president who is a contender in the Delta North senatorial seat, charged security agencies to carry out a thorough investigation in to the incident with a view  to unmasking the motives of persons behind the action.

Dr. Ojougboh sued for the sustenance of peace prevailing in the state and urged youths to remain calm as security agencies were on top of the matter and advised the Delta State Government not to be distracted by the incident saying that government should pursue its lofty people oriented development programme with renewed vigour and increased velocity.

On the tragic incident in Agbor in which six school children lost their lives, Dr. Ojougboh sympathized with the deceased parents and urged them to take solace in the fact that God is the giver of life.

He prayed God to grant the souls of the departed eternal rest and the families of the deceased the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
