BENIN CITY — THE Labour Party in Edo State, has passed a vote of no confidence on the state chairman of the party, Dr. John Ogbeide, just as the party also accused Governor Adams Oshiomhole of making members of the party “on lookers” in the affairs of his administration, despite the alliance between the party and the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN.
The party in a statement by Sugaba Benjamin (Chairman Etsako Central), Vice Chairman of the party (Edo Central), Mr Smart Binitie, Alhaji Usman Ehibor (Chairman Esan North East), Mr Otasowie Emma (Ikpoba Okhai), Johnson Idahor (Oredo) and 20 others, said they decided to pass the vote of no confidence on Ogbeide, due to his alleged dictatorial tendencies, invasion of Oredo secretariat of the party and illegal suspension of members.
He was also accused of hoarding the financial status of the party, as “there has never been an audited report or financial statement of account in the past two years, and filling of vacancies in the state exco are done without the knowledge and approval of the exco, such as the filling of the position of secretary.”
