Nwodo to aspirants: Nigerians want issue driven campaigns

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Okwesilieze Nwodo, at the weekend,  reviewed the ongoing campaigns of the presidential aspirants in the country and said that what Nigerians want is issue driven campaign and not bickering.

Nwodo, who spoke in Osogbo, Osun State capital at a special dinner hosted in his honour by the Osun State Government, warned that politicians should know that Nigerians are tired of tribal and religious politics and want to hear about issues that will help bring food on their table.

A statement from Nwodo’s media assistant Ike Abonyi quoted the PDP boss as saying that old stories where politicians based campaign on sentiment rather than issues are gone for good.

He particularly praised Governor Oyinlola for his job creation policy and urged the people to continue to support PDP.

Also speaking at the dinner, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mr. Dimeji Bankole, told the people that what happened in Ekiti State  must not happen in Osun but he urged the people to be peaceful in all their ways. Earlier, Oyinlola had said that the party is lucky to have a man of pedigree like Nwodo as its leader at this time.
