Teniola Tope Ojo, a JSS 2 student of Holy Child College, Ikoyi, Lagos recently won a whopping sum of 2 million naira in the children special programme of who wants to be a million Television Programme. She was interviewed by the members of Press/Literary and Debating Society of the School. Here are some of the excerpts from the interview.

I’m fine, thank you

Tell us about yourself.

My name is Teniola. Tope Ojo from Ado-Ekiti.in Ekiti state. I am the first child of my parents. I have a younger brother (we are just two). My father is a Gynaecologist in a reputable hospital in Lagos. My mother is a nurse and she works in the Nursing and Mid-Wifery Council of Nigeria. I come from a good home and am in a good school. I love my parents and they are my role model.

What kind of a person are you?

I am a very shy person but serious minded. I like people who are also serious minded and I keep them as friends. I like honest people. I am a bookworm and I have a good reading habit that is why English and Literature are my best subjects.

You recently won N2 million naira in the television programme, “Who wants to be a. Millionaire?”

Yes, you are right.

How did you get involved with the programme?

I usually watch the programme on television because it is an interesting and educative programme. After watching the programme, they announced a “children special programme” and asked interested viewers to dial a particular number. I dialed the number and it went through. I was later called and given this question to answer.

What is the Roman God of Love called? I answered: Cupid” I was called after some weeks to come for the programme with a recommendation letter from my school. So, that was how I got involved in the programme.

Can you share your experience with us?

I was invited to the “Hot seat” after winning the fastest finger frost which was contested by eight (8) people. I was very nervous and did not know I would got to N2 million. I used all my “life lines” and had to walk away at N2 million before I descended to N250,000 for getting the next question wrong.

What were the reactions of the people around you? I mean your family, school and friends? They were so proud of me. They treated me like a Queen and I felt great. My school even gave me an award for making her proud.

How do you intend to spend the Money?

The money is not meant to be spent, it is a scholarship.

Being a young millionaire, how has it affected your person?

I am still myself, just simple and humble only that I am now very shy because people keep staring at me everywhere.

What is your advice to Holy Child students?

I advise them to have PHD that is they should be Prayerful, Hardworking and Disciplined.
