National Coordinator, Committee for Democratic Governance, CDG, Comrade Imalah Ugoachanum, has carpeted the Delta State Governor, Sen. Ifeanyi Okowa, over what he described as ‘watery appointment’ to Ndokwa Nation.

In a statement made available to Vanguard, Imalah stated : “I have my reservations for Okowa and his watery appointments to Ndokwa nation. If out of 25 Commissioners, Lands and Survey, Special Duties and Water Resources is the best he could give to Ndokwa nation then we are disappointed in him.

” Ndokwa nation carved a niche for themselves in DESOPADEC with Agip as the only operational oil company in the entire Ndokwa nation but if with over 10 more oil companies scattered over Ndokwa nation, the Okowa and PDP led Delta State haven’t deemed it fit to at least appoint a son of Ndokwa nation as the Managing Director of DESOPADEC, then I can boldly say we are highly disappointed.

” Since inception of Delta State and the loyalty of Ndokwa nation to the PDP, the PDP has never perceived Ndokwa nation worthy of being a Deputy Governor, then we are disappointed and if by the end of Okowa’s administration an Ndokwa man does not succeed them as Deputy Governor, then Ndokwa nation will be more disappointed.

” The highest executive position an Ndokwa person has ever occupied in Delta state is an accidental Secretary to the State Government, SSG which is during Ibori’s time (I stand to be corrected) and I begin to ask, what then has Ndokwa nation benefitted from PDP’s 19 years in power in the state. When Okowa some on board, we thought it was the turn of an Ndokwa man to be the 3rd most powerful executive member but once again, we were disappointed.

” For a longtime, the only place where our Ndokwa women find solace in Kwale, the Eke Market has been in a sorry state with our women made to trade on dirty and muddy ground and I begin to wonder if with the numerous markets the state government has claimed to have built for other ethnic nationalities, will heaven fall if the state government decides to intervene and help save our women from trading on top of dangerous diseases.

“Permit me to say also that if after the first four years of Okowa on the saddle, our women cannot see any reason to say #Okowa_Continua at least every once in four days, then I beg to say our disappointment will be immeasurable.

” As a nation, we have seen and endured the sufferings of the PDP led Delta State, and a day will come when we can no longer be a party to prolong our sufferings for ends which we believe to be evil, unjust and most painfully deliberate. One day, strength will be born in the deep silence of our long-suffering hearts and the oppressed will topple the table, take their decision and let the heaven fall if at all it will.
