Okowa assures Shell of peaceful atmosphere

Governor Ifeanyi Okowa of Delta State has assured Shell Petroleum Development Company , SPDC, that the state government remains continually committed, along with security agencies, to ensuring that the attractive peaceful atmosphere for investment is sustained and maintained.

Okowa, who was represented by his deputy, Mr Kingsley Otuaro, stated this during a strategic meeting with top management staff of Shell, in Warri. The meeting bordered on the imperative of sustaining the existing peaceful atmosphere in the oil operating environment in Delta State.

The SPDC management had observed and commended the painstaking efforts of the Delta State Government in scaling up the conducive atmosphere for industrial activities in the hitherto troubled area.

Okowa assured: “The Delta State Government assures the SPDC that it remains continually committed, along with security agencies, to ensuring that the attractive peaceful atmosphere for investment is sustained and maintained.”

The governor, therefor,e called on all critical stakeholders in the oil operating environment to harmoniously work with the Delta State Government’s institutional structures and security agencies towards maintaining the existing peace. This, the governor said, was necessary for achievement of the Delta State Government’s promise of delivering prosperity to all Deltans.

Among top management staff of SPDC present at the meeting were Mr. Maichibi Meshack, West Asset Manager; Mr. Ibitoye Fatoki, Intelligence and External Relations Manager; Mr. Evans Krukurobo, West Asset External Relations Manager.
