Best Western Hotel to create more jobs in Lagos

Best Western Hotel, Lagos Ikeja formally opened last Friday, days after news filled the air that the hotel was to make grand entry into the hospitality business in the state.

The hotel, another international brand, was commissioned by the Lagos State Commissioner for Environment, Dr. Muiz Banire on Nigeria’s Independence Day Celebration.

Commissioning the hotel, the commissioner said that Best Western is a business class hotel that would give people of Ikeja and the state at large additional options in their choices of hospitality patronage as well as improving on the state tourism and the economy generally.

On his part,  the Group Managing Director of Suru Groups, owners of Best Western Lagos Ikeja Hotel, Mr. Edward Akinlade went down memory lane, saying  that it took them about 3 ½ years to actualised the dream of owning a hotel in the heart of Ikeja and noted that when fully stabilised, the hotel will employ around 100 persons.

The 112 room hotel, according to Jonathan Patterson, General Manager of the hotel, is the most modern hospitality outfit that aim to fill the gap in quality hospitality needs of the business and residential communities.
He noted that the coming of Best Western Hotel, will provide visitors and business owners the opportunity who hitherto stay in hotels in traffic prone areas of the city to now stay in the heart of Lagos with ease because of the quality accommodation, security and tranquillity they seek elsewhere that has now been brought to Ikeja neighbourhood.
Also speaking, Professor Adeniyi Osuntokun, Chairman, African Sun Hotel, Nigeria commended Suru Group for singling them out among the numerous hotel management companies to manage Best Western Lagos Ikeja, and assured them that their confidence will not be in vain.
Professor Osuntokun stressed further that though the chain is very prominent in the United States, he assured that it would soon become a household name in Nigeria.
The hotel furnished to taste and with dedication to details will no doubt give guests value for their money while staying at this modern facility that is less than 15 minutes drive to both the local and international airports respectively, he concluded.

“The re-opening of the Best Western Lagos could not have come at a better time while we celebrate Nigeria’s Golden Jubilee. Lagos is the business centre of West Africa, and the Best Western is perfectly located to provide the business community of Lagos with quality accommodation and services  service as they work and look forward to the next 50 years of economic growth,”
