Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA), Tuesday, said its International Trade Centre in Abuja , will be used for the promotion of trade and export activity.
The edifice which is being sited in the central business district of Abuja on a lend area of 4,275 Sq. metres, has been estimated to gulp N2 billion only.
According to Dr. Simon Chukwuemeka Okolo , President, the project, when completed , will be an edifice where all year round exhibitions of our products and services from all sectors; manufacturing, agriculture mineral deposits, etc, would be staged to promote trade and export activities.
As a matter of fact, with the completion of the edifice, the much needed Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into the country will be attracted in no distant time, thereby promoting non-oil export as desired” Dr. Okolo Observed. a “Master Piece mini World Trade Centre where the Association can receive and network with different business groups who continually visit the country with their political leaders.”
In his keynote address while performing the sod-turning of the project, the President, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, lauded NACCIMA for its contribution to the economy, even as he observed that the industrial sector, which was expected to be the major contributor to the Gross Domestic Product (GDP), has had challenges which have resulted in stunted growth and closure of a large number of enterprises.
