Oyo lifts Prince Abidoye Cup

The Coach, Akande Arisekola tutored ,Oyo state youth football team are champions of this year’s, Prince Dokun Abidoye, National U-16 Boys Football Championship after its 4-3 penalty shootout win over hard fighting, Kaduna state team.

The finals decided at the playing field of the, Osun State, Polytechnic, Ire, saw both teams putting up a brilliant performance while the halves lasted. No goal to show for the good football until full time, leading to penalty shoot out at the end of the day.

Earlier, Anambra State team also defeated their counterparts from,Ekiti State, by 2-0 to lift the third place trophy donated by the organizer’s [YSFON].

In his reaction after his boys victory, Coach, Akande Arisekola, popularly called, Pro star Manager   attributed his team’s win to sheer hard work, dedication, discipline, focus and prayers from his boys.

The excited coach however promised to consolidate on this win by going all out to capture any of the YSFON championships in future, particularly the next U-13 championship billed for Lagoslater this month.

‘Today’s win is dedicated to his Excellency, governor of Oyo State, Otunba Alao Akala and the State sports Commissioner, Hon. Ayoola Mnkanjuoola, over their contribution toward the development of sports in the state especially in youth football championship,” he stated.

The final attracted an appreciable crowd of dignitaries that included former Super eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufia, representative of Chief of Naval Staff, Navy Captain, Tunji Beckley, his royal Highness,, Alase of Ase IJESALAND, Oba, Oyekanmi Adeniyi, and Hajia, Sidikat   Adewale led Dokun Abidoye Families among others
