ABUJA—President Goodluck Jonathan, with various government officials and industry leaders, will address the challenges impeding our country’s development and propose concrete steps to move the nation forward at the 16th Nigerian Economic Summit on October 19, 2010 at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
Other expected panelists include Senator David Mark, Senate President; Chief Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu; Mazi Sam Ohuabunwa, MD, Neimeth Pharmaceuticals and Chairman, (NESG) and Mr. Bello Maccido, MD, Legacy Pensions.
This landmark event provides an opportunity for a deeper examination of our nation’s progress in comparison with countries of similar and related socio-political indices.
Since Nigeria’s return to democratic governance, the Nigerian Economic Summit has provided a consistent platform for partnership between key private and public sector stakeholders. The theme for this year’s event is “Nigeria @ 50: The Challenge of Visionary Leadership and Good Governance” and will lay a strong foundation for good leadership in all areas of the nation’s economy and polity.
The Summit, organized by the Nigerian Economic Summit Group in partnership with the National Planning Commission, is scheduled to begin on Tuesday, 19th of October with the Presidential Policy Dialogue and end on Thursday, 21st of October, 2010 with the Election 2011 Debate.
Other plenaries include the Emerging Leaders Forum, the CEOs Forum, Regulators Forum, Legislators Roundtable, Dialogue with INEC and various Sectoral Policy Dialogues.
