68-yr-old woman, sister kidnapped in Delta

By Festus Ahon
UGHELLI—PEACE and security efforts of the Delta State Government, yesterday, suffered a setback as a 68- year-old woman, Mrs Martha Ughwujabor and her younger sister, Madam Lucy Emagolor, were kidnapped in Eku, Ethiope East Local Government Area of the State.

Vanguard gathered that the duo were kidnapped on their way from a church service at about 11am in company of two grand children belonging to Mrs Martha Ughwujabor.

Our correspondent reports that the abductors made away with Mrs Martha Ughwujabor and her younger sister after abandoning the two kids in their jeep.

Speaking to newsmen in Ughelli, a family source said the abductors were in touch with them, adding that a ransom of N20 million was already being demanded.

The family source who pleaded anonymity, said the police and other security agents have been alerted. Effort to reach the Divisional Police Officer in charge of the Isiokolo Police Division proved abortive as at press time. However, a senior police officer attached to the division confirmed the incident.
