Kano State Governor, Abdullahi Ganduje
Responding to the issues raised by the Deputy Governor, he expresses dismay saying it was pertinent to mildly and factually respond to some of them.
Responding on the issue alleging that the state Governor does not respect the office of the Deputy Governor, he expressed surprise.
“I was surprised with your assertion that I disrespect the office of the Deputy Governor when you well know that in the three years we worked together you have fully deputised me and even acted as the Governor in my absence” he stated.
While accepting the resignation, Governor Ganduje also said that he had appealed to members of the House of Assembly to drop the process of impeachment after raising several offences against him signed by 30 members of the House and they have obliged.
The Governor wished Prof Abubakar all the best as he returns to the university where he is familiar with and performs better.
In a similar development, just some hours after the resignation of the Deputy Governor, about three aides to the governor have tendered their resignation letters on Monday.
The aides who resigned are: Shamsu Aliyu Samanja (Senior Special Assistant on Public Affairs), Abdulhadi Zubairu Chula (Special Adviser on Non Governmental Organizations, NGO) and Special Assistant to the state Governor on Graveyards Alh Yakubu Nagoda
They revealed their decisions in their letters dated 6 of August and sent to the Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
They are also said to be loyalists of former Governor, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso who recently defected to the PDP.
