South-South leader, Senator Edwin Clark, has commiserated with the families of late Finance Minister, Mallam Adamu Ciroma and late Inspector-General of Police, Alhaji Ibrahim Coomassie over the demise of the late elder-statesmen.

Clark, in separate letters to the families of the bereaved, recalled his encounters with the two men and the respective roles they played in nation building.

In the letter to Mrs. Maraym Ciroma and the government of Yobe State, Clark said: “I came in contact with late Mallam Ciroma when he was the Editor of the famous Northern Nigeria newspaper, the New Nigerian Newspaper, especially with his bold write-ups as a journalist during the trial of Andrew Obeya, who was a federal Permanent Secretary.”

In another letter to the family of the late Coomassie, the Katsina State Government and the Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF, Clark said he recalled his time with the late police boss during the 2014 National Conference.

“Late Ibrahim Coomassie was one of the prominent members of the Conference. He co-Chaired the Committee on Devolution of Power, together with His Excellency, Obong Victor Attah former Governor of Akwa Ibom State.”
