ABEOKUTA—THE Accord Party in Ogun State  has dissociated itself from the coalition of political parties by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, saying it has the capacity to win  in the forthcoming elections in the state.

A chieftain of the party and a governorship aspirant, Tope Tokoya said this in Abeokuta while declaring  his ambition to contest for the governorship seat of Ogun State on the platform of Accord Party in 2019.

Tokoya, who was the ex-council boss of Odogbolu local government also declared that the desire of his party to wrestle power from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state would not be sacrificed on the altar of the recent coalition of opposition parties with PDP.

He said: “Accord Party has  all it takes to single-handedly prosecute the election including my governorship ambition. We are not going into coalition with opposition parties including PDP to wrest power from APC in Ogun State.

“Accord Party  is built on Integrity and fear of God; it is the only party that will use its various people-oriented programmes to wipe away tears from the faces of residents of Ogun State.”

While speaking on his programmes for the State, he said: “The youths will be given great opportunities just as you can see that our party has the largest percentage of youths.

“We will look at the books and when things are not done rightly, we will ask questions but we will not probe so as not to distract our government, we will ensure that we satisfy our people.

“Our party is here to make corrections, we will ensure orders are followed and enforce financial discipline. From my experience, probing past government is a distraction for any serious administration.”
