Issele-Uku—Traditional rulers in Delta North senatorial district have begun aggressive sensitization programme in the zone to educate their subjects and residents in the area on the importance of the Permanent Voter’s Card, PVC, ahead of 2019 general election.
They have also called on local government authorities in the district to make the possession of the PVC as a condition for the issuance of letters of the local government area of origin to individuals and in all other official engagements with the public.
Arising from the quarterly meeting of Delta North Traditional Rulers forum at Issele-Uku, the monarchs directed eligible voters in the district to obtain the PVC before the suspension of the exercise by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC on August 14.
In a five-point communiqué at the end of the meeting, the forum urged the political class to rise up to the challenge of galvanizing eligible citizens to register and obtain the PVC to enable them vote in the 2019 polls.
