Tragedy struck weekend, as a final year student of Biochemistry at the University of Port Harcourt, UNIPORT, Rivers State, Blessing Igoni, died when the powerbike she was riding on crashed near Bori Camp, Aba Road, in Rumukpakolosi, Port Harcourt, the state capital.

Two other persons, her friend who was also on the power bike and another man, both identities unknown, also lost their lives in the incident.

It was gathered that the rider, on reaching front of Pleasure Park, swerved to avoid hitting a man that was crossing, but lost control in the process.

Eyewitnesses said Blessing, who was clad in blue jeans and black shirt, and her friend died on the spot. The pedestrian, who was crushed while trying to cross, also died moments later.

Friends took to Blessing’s Facebook page in grief.
