Lawmaker urges support for Uduaghan’s 2nd term bid

UGHELLI — DEPUTY Chief Whip of the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Solomon Ighrakpata, has charged his constituents to support the second term bid of Governor  Emmanuel Uduaghan, to enable him consolidate on his achievements.

Addressing members of the Uvwie Support Group, USG, led by Deacon Efe Okoledo, yesterday, he said that  Uduaghan has done alot for Uvwie and  that it was time for the people  to reciprocate by voting for him in the coming election.

Ighrakpata, who is the founder and initiator of the group, said, “for you to be able to vote, go and register once INEC starts voters registration exercise, so that you can vote for Uduaghan come 2011.”

Earlier in his speech, national chairman of the group, Deacon  Okoledo, said the group was promoting political unity among the Uvwie people, adding  that they were being repositioned to claim their rightful position in the scheme of things in the state.

Saying that the group was put together by Chief Ighrakpata  to mobilize Uvwie indigenes and non_indigenes to attain full socio_cultural and political advancement of the community, he hailed the cordial relationship between Chief Solomon Ighrakpata and Governor Uduaghan.

Speaking further, he said the group has adopted Governor Uduaghan and Chief Ighrakpata for second term in office. Also speaking, Chief John Ashubu thanked Chief Solomon Ighrakpata for putting the group together.
