Nigeria caretaker coach, Austin Eguavoen, will name his squad for next month’s crucial 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier away to Guinea on Thursday with Obinna Nsofor likely to be recalled, officials have disclosed.

MTNFootball.com checks have revealed that Eguavoen will keep faith with the squad that beat Madagascar 2_0 in their opening Group B match earlier this month.

However, Olympique Marseille defender Taye Taiwo, Ukraine_based Sani Kaita and Obinna Nsofor, who has settled down at English Premier League side West Ham, are set for a recall.

Nsofor asked to be overlook for last month’s friendly against South Korea because he was involved in Inter Milan’s pre_season training.

He was also not picked for the Madagascar game because he was then putting finishing touches to his loan move to London club West Ham.

“Nsofor will be recalled for the match in Guinea. He has now settled down in England,” an official informed MTNFootball.com.

The inability of big central defender Danny Shittu to sign for a new club after he was released by Bolton Wanderers recently could well now work against his invitation for the crunch match in Guinea.

Russia_based striker Solomon Okoronkwo, who was an unused substitute against Madagascar may thus have to wait a little longer before he can make his competitive debut at full international level.

In August, he won his first cap for the Eagles in the South Korea friendly.West Bromwich Albion striker Osaze Odemwingie has not done his international career any harm by hitting a brace against Birmingham at the weekend, while the consistency and a more offensive_minded role for Mikel Obi would have cheered Eguavoen.

Eguavoen has also agreed to call up 10 players from the Nigeria Premier League (NPL) for the tricky trip to Conakry.
Top of this list would be goal king Ahmed Musa, who is yet to embark on his European adventure with Dutch side VVV Venlo, Enyimba duo of Valentine Nwabili and Eneje Otekpa as well as Terna Suswan from Lobi Stars.

Both Nigeria and Guinea won their opening qualifying matches, but the Syli Stars lead the standings after they beat Ethiopia 4_1 in Addis Ababa.

Nigeria have yet to beat Guinea at the September 28 Stadium in Conakry and even lost by a lone goal to the host team in their last meeting there in August 1997.
