Security operatives in Sokoto State have foiled a major bandit attack on Bodinga community in Bodinga Local Government Area, neutralising three suspected bandits and recovering an AK-47 rifle with live ammunition during a fierce overnight operation.

A 300-level Biochemistry student of the Federal University Birnin Kebbi (FUBK), Zaharadeen Nuhu, has died after sustaining severe injuries during an attack by suspected thieves at a private hostel in Kalgo Local Government Area of Kebbi State.

The Federal Government, Thursday, disclosed that it was considering taking the issue of recurring xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa to the African Union, AU, to seek a permanent solution.
