The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has described the outcome of Saturday’s by-elections in parts of the country as a clear referendum on the leadership of Bola Tinubu and the ruling party’s governance agenda.

Minister of Works, David Umahi, has announced that Section One of the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway is on track for commissioning by May, even as he condemned vandalism and improper waste disposal along the project corridor.

The National Assembly has outlined major reforms contained in the newly enacted Electoral Act 2026, introducing mandatory electronic transmission of results, compulsory use of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS), and digital membership registers for political parties as part of efforts to strengthen Nigeria’s electoral integrity.

Describing the facilities as “highly impressive,” the Minister said the company represents the future of Nigeria’s defence industrial base.

During the meeting, the SEC approved the domestication of the Teachers’ Harmonised Retirement Age Act 2022 to address workforce needs in the state’s school system.
