Nigerian comedian and event host, MC Graduate, has sold out his debut headline comedy show, MC Graduate Live: The First Semester, in Lagos.
The sold-out event marks a significant milestone in the comedian’s career, following years of working as an event host and entertainer at other people’s events.
For MC Graduate, the show represented an opportunity to step into the spotlight as the principal act and invite audiences to experience his comedy on a stage dedicated entirely to him.
He said the turnout reflected the relationship he had built with his audience over time, noting that each ticket represented a conscious decision by fans to spend their time and money on the experience he created.
“I’m genuinely grateful,” MC Graduate said. “People could have chosen to spend their money anywhere, but they chose to come and see me. I don’t take that for granted.
“For me, this show was never just about selling tickets. I wanted people to come, laugh, have a good time and leave knowing they had a great experience.”
According to the comedian, the title, The First Semester, reflects a period of learning, growth, risk-taking and discovering new possibilities.
He described the sold-out show not as the culmination of his journey but as the beginning of a new chapter, with plans to pursue bigger stages, wider audiences and more opportunities in comedy and live entertainment.
With his debut headline show successfully concluded, MC Graduate said he was looking forward to building on the experience and taking his craft to the next level.
