A lecturer at the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA, Mr Olumide Akinpelumi has been pointed a Managing Partner by EVA Professionals.

In a statement on Tuesday, the company said Akinpelumi as Managing Partner, would bring to the firm extensive experience in tax and global trade, regulatory compliance and professional advisory.

Akinpelumi is a highly experienced tax and global trade professional with over ten years of experience spanning tax consultancy, regulatory compliance and global trade. He has built a distinguished career providing technical and strategic advisory services to clients across the public and private sectors, including multinational companies.

He has served as a Director in the Indirect Tax and Global Trade sub-service line of one of the Big Four accounting firms in Nigeria, where he provided a broad range of services, including indirect tax compliance, indirect tax advisory and global trade advisory to clients across various sectors.

Akinpelumi has significant expertise in advising businesses on direct tax, indirect tax and global trade compliance, including tax structuring and planning. He also possesses in-depth knowledge of trade tax exemptions, customs incentives, tariff management and fiscal policy, enabling him to provide practical and commercially focused solutions to complex tax and trade matters.

His professional experience extends beyond private-sector advisory. He has also supported the Federal Government of Nigeria on various tax implementation initiatives, including matters relating to African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) implementation. This experience has provided him with a strong understanding of Nigeria’s evolving tax, customs and trade policy landscape, as well as the practical implications of regulatory reforms for businesses and government institutions. He has also served as a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) Tax and Fiscal Policy Committee for over a decade.

Akinpelumi also has extensive experience in the real estate, construction and property development sectors, further broadening his understanding of the regulatory and commercial considerations affecting businesses in these industries.

Over the course of his career, he has advised a diverse portfolio of clients across the public and private sectors and developed deep industry knowledge through engagements involving complex tax, regulatory and global trade matters. His approach combines strong technical expertise with a practical understanding of the commercial and operational realities facing organisations.

Akinpelumi holds a Master of Science degree in Accounting and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting. He is also a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN).

Beyond his professional career, Akinpelumi has made significant contributions to professional education and capacity development. For over a decade, he has served as a lecturer in various institutions such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA).
He is also a serial entrepreneur with interests spanning across various sectors.
