Clinton Joshua Ezewele is stepping onto a bigger stage. Known as one of Nollywood’s fastest-rising actors, Ezewele is set for his theatrical cinema debut in “Five Figurines”, a moral thriller scheduled to hit Nigerian cinemas later this year. And it’s a role unlike anything he has played before.

For an actor who built his name on speed, instinct, and sheer volume, the move marks a deliberate shift. Since making his screen debut in “When Angels Meet” in 2023, produced by Uchenna Mbunabo of One and Two Films, Ezewele has raked up over 100 film credits in just three years.

That grassroots run has also earned him the Best New Actor of the Year award at the Nollywood Honours 2023. Off-screen, he founded Clinton Joshua Film Limited and built a combined social following of more than 2 million across Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.

Born in Lagos State to Edo heritage, Ezewele’s rise has been defined by one thing: closeness to his audience. He learned on set, grew with each role, and turned instinct into craft.

“Five Figurines” isn’t a departure from that story. It’s the next chapter. This is about moving from one stage to the next,” a source close to the production notes. “The canvas is bigger now, and so is the depth he’s reaching for.”

For Clinton Joshua, the work hasn’t changed, only the scale has. From viral shorts and straight-to-digital films to a full theatrical release, Ezewele is proving that Nollywood’s new generation isn’t waiting for permission to lead.
