An Abuja-based Ondo State chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Hon. Ebiesuwa Samuel Adegoke, has congratulated Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his victory in the August 15 governorship election.

Adegoke described Adeleke’s victory as a reflection of the choice of the people of Osun State.

He urged the governor to regard the victory as a renewed mandate to serve the people and deliver more democratic dividends.

“The people have spoken, and their decision must be respected,” Adegoke said.

The APC chieftain also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission for its conduct of the election.

He said the electoral process and collation of results underscored the need to strengthen Nigeria’s democratic institutions.

“I commend INEC, its officials and other stakeholders who worked tirelessly to ensure that the election was conducted in an orderly and transparent manner,” he said.

Adegoke also praised President Bola Tinubu for allowing the electoral process to proceed without what he described as undue interference.

According to him, political leaders must place national interest above partisan considerations.

“The President has shown that democracy is bigger than any individual or political party,” Adegoke said.

He urged political parties, candidates and their supporters to accept the outcome of the election and pursue any grievances through lawful channels.

Adegoke also appealed to Adeleke to use his second term to focus on youth empowerment, education, infrastructure, employment and economic development.

“This victory should not be seen merely as a political victory. It is a renewed responsibility to the people,” he said.

He urged the governor to extend his hand of fellowship to political opponents and work with stakeholders across party lines.

Adegoke said the election was over and governance should now take centre stage.

He called on the people of Osun State to hold the government accountable while supporting policies that would improve their standard of living.

He wished Adeleke a successful second term and urged him to justify the confidence reposed in him by the electorate through accountable and inclusive governance.
