— Says over 600 women, PWDs empowered nationwide

The Jummy I Care Foundation has commended the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, House of Destiny and other partners for supporting its entrepreneurship training and empowerment programme for women and Persons with Disabilities (PWDs).

The foundation said more than 600 women and PWDs across the country had benefited from its skills acquisition and entrepreneurship initiative.

The Chief Executive Officer of the foundation, Chief (Mrs.) Jumoke Abegunde, said the programme was funded through personal donations and contributions from partner organisations.

She added that the foundation had also invested in entrepreneurship equipment, tricycles and other empowerment materials to support beneficiaries.

Speaking during the training of a new batch of beneficiaries at her office, Abegunde said the initiative was designed to equip youths, women, PWDs and aspiring business owners with practical skills in business management, financial literacy and sustainable enterprise development.

She said the programme was aimed at promoting self-reliance, job creation and economic inclusion among beneficiaries.

Abegunde said the support received from the NDDC and other partners had contributed significantly to the success of the programme, noting that their commitment to youth empowerment, women development and economic inclusion aligned with the foundation’s objectives.

According to her, the training covered areas including business ideation, business planning, access to finance, digital marketing, leadership skills and enterprise development.

The foundation reaffirmed its commitment to expanding its entrepreneurship initiatives to more communities across the country.

It also called for increased collaboration with government agencies, corporate organisations and well-meaning Nigerians to enable it reach more women, youths and PWDs.

Abegunde expressed appreciation to the NDDC, Federal Ministry of Labour and Employment, House of Destiny and other supporters for their contributions towards women empowerment, youth development and the advancement of PWDs in Nigeria.
