The Convener of the Ekiti in Safe Hands Project and son of Ilupeju Ekiti, Osabinu Olufemi, has called on the people of Ekiti State to rally behind the Senate Majority Leader, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, describing him as a leader whose legislative contributions have strengthened Nigeria’s democracy and advanced national development.

Olufemi made the appeal in a statement issued on Tuesday to commemorate Bamidele’s birthday anniversary.

He described the Senate Majority Leader as “an exceptional statesman, an exemplary leader and one of the finest legislators Ekiti State has ever produced.”

According to him, Bamidele has consistently demonstrated purposeful leadership, courage and an unwavering commitment to democratic ideals through his service in the National Assembly.

“Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele has distinguished himself through purposeful leadership, unwavering commitment to democratic ideals and impactful legislative service to our nation,” he said.

Olufemi added that Bamidele’s sponsorship of key bills and legislative interventions had contributed to strengthening democratic institutions, promoting good governance and supporting the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

He said, “His advocacy for reforms aimed at improving national security, economic development, institutional effectiveness and citizen participation continues to leave an enduring legacy in the National Assembly.”

The Ekiti group convener noted that Bamidele’s political journey remained a source of inspiration for young Nigerians, particularly in Ekiti State, where he said many had watched him rise through the ranks with humility, integrity and dedication to public service.

He maintained that the senator’s commitment to the development of Ekiti State and Nigeria reflected his vision and capacity for leadership.

Olufemi prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health and wisdom for the lawmaker as he marked another year.

“As he celebrates his birthday, I pray that Almighty God grants him long life, sound health, greater wisdom and renewed strength to continue serving our dear nation,” he said.

He also urged residents of Ekiti State to remember Bamidele in their prayers and continue to support him.

“I call on the good people of Ekiti State to remember Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele in their prayers and to continue to give him their unwavering support,” Olufemi added.

He further appealed to Nigerians to support both Bamidele and President Tinubu, saying their leadership remained crucial to building a stronger, more prosperous and united Nigeria.
