The Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB), in collaboration with OFY Multi Dynamics Ltd, has completed a two-week intensive training and empowerment programme on electricity meter repairs and electrical distribution switchgear for 50 beneficiaries in Lagos State.
The training, which held from July 13 to July 24, 2026, was designed to equip participants with practical, industry-relevant skills in line with NCDMB’s mandate to build local capacity and promote Nigerian Content in the power and energy sector.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, representatives of OFY Multi Dynamics Ltd said the programme was part of efforts to bridge the skills gap in electricity distribution and metering while creating sustainable employment opportunities for youths.
Participants were trained in fault diagnosis, repair and calibration of single-phase and three-phase electricity meters, installation and maintenance of electrical distribution switchgear, safety procedures and industry best practices.
The programme adopted a 70 per cent practical and 30 per cent theoretical approach, giving beneficiaries hands-on experience with modern tools and equipment, alongside classroom sessions on electrical principles, safety standards and customer service in the power sector.
Some participants expressed appreciation to NCDMB and OFY Multi Dynamics Ltd, describing the training as a valuable opportunity that would enhance their chances of self-employment and job opportunities within electricity distribution companies and other power sector organisations.
The completion of the programme has increased the number of skilled technicians available in Lagos State to support electricity meter repairs and distribution operations, further strengthening Nigerian Content development in the energy sector.
