Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State has been urged to remain focused on his administration’s development agenda and avoid distractions from opposition elements and critics as he continues to deliver good governance to the people of the state.

The advice was given during a courtesy visit by Kebbi State media aides to the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, in Abuja, where the need to sustain attention on policies and programmes that impact positively on citizens was emphasised.

The Managing Director of NAN, Ali Ali, who gave the advice, described Governor Idris as an honest, transparent, and God-fearing leader who consistently places the interests of the people above personal considerations.
Ali said he had followed the governor’s developmental strides across Kebbi State, noting that the transformation, particularly in the state capital, was evident.

“I have known Kaura Gwandu for a long time. He is a God-fearing man. I have been following the developmental projects he has executed across the state. I served in Kebbi during the Dakingari administration, and I can clearly see the remarkable transformation, especially in the state capital,” he said.

The NAN Managing Director assured the Kebbi State Government of the agency’s commitment to objective and balanced reporting of its achievements and developmental efforts.

Speaking during the visit, Kebbi State Commissioner for Information and Culture, Yakubu Ahmed, said the engagement was aimed at strengthening collaboration with NAN and enhancing publicity for Governor Idris’ people-oriented policies and programmes.

The commissioner also dismissed reports of a new insurgent group operating in the state, describing the claims as false.

“What we have are internet fraudsters, popularly known as Yahoo boys, who specialise in online scams. There is no new insurgent group operating in Kebbi State,” he said.

Ahmed highlighted the achievements of the administration, including major road projects, distribution of free fertilisers and agricultural inputs to farmers, construction and renovation of healthcare facilities, and the building and rehabilitation of schools across the 21 local government areas of the state.

The delegation included the Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Yahaya Sarki; Chief Press Secretary, Ahmed Idris; Special Adviser on Public Enlightenment and Orientation, Ibrahim Abubakar Jombali; Special Adviser on New Media, Aliyu Bandado; and Special Adviser on Strategic Communication, Abdullahi Idris Zuru.
