QNET denies links with 46 individuals arrested in Ogun

By Juliet Umeh

Global direct selling company, QNET, has distanced itself from 46 individuals recently arrested in Ogun State during a joint security operation, insisting that it has no affiliation, business relationship, or authorised connection with those involved.

The company’s reaction followed media reports alleging that the arrested persons claimed to be associated with QNET.

In a statement issued on Friday, QNET described any suggestion that the suspects were acting on its behalf as false and misleading, stressing that they were neither authorised representatives nor members of its official business network.

QNET noted that, like many international brands, it has occasionally encountered cases where unscrupulous individuals misuse its name, products, or business model to perpetrate fraudulent schemes and lure unsuspecting victims with promises of employment, migration opportunities, or quick financial gains.

Commenting on the development, Regional General Manager for Sub-Saharan Africa, Mr. Biram Fall, said the company does not support or facilitate migration as a pathway for participation in its business.

He said: “QNET does not support, facilitate, or promote cross-border migration as a means of participating in its business. We do not offer employment opportunities, migration pathways, relocation arrangements, or visa sponsorships. Any individual presenting QNET as a route to overseas opportunities is acting fraudulently and without authorisation.”

Fall explained that the company operates under strict global compliance standards and maintains a zero-tolerance policy against fraud, misrepresentation, illegal migration activities, and other unlawful practices.

According to him, QNET prohibits cross-border recruitment or migration-related inducements and takes disciplinary measures, including legal action, against individuals found violating its policies.

The company also reaffirmed its commitment to complying with all applicable laws and regulations in countries where it operates.

QNET commended the efforts of Nigerian security agencies, including the Nigerian Army, the Department of State Services, DSS, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, NSCDC, and the Nigeria Immigration Service, for tackling illegal activities and protecting vulnerable communities from exploitation.

The company further pledged continued collaboration with regulators, law enforcement agencies, and community stakeholders to combat misinformation, fraud, and the misuse of its brand.

“Individuals who exploit the QNET brand to deceive members of the public must be identified and held accountable through the appropriate legal processes,” the statement added.

QNET urged members of the public to verify information relating to its products, services, and business model through its official communication channels to avoid falling victim to fraudulent schemes.

The company reiterated its commitment to transparency, consumer protection, ethical business conduct, and responsible entrepreneurship.

Founded in 1998, QNET is a lifestyle and wellness-focused direct selling company operating across several markets globally. The company offers a range of health, wellness, personal care, home care, luxury, and travel-related products through its e-commerce-driven business model.
