ABUJA – The Nigeria Export Processing Zones Authority (NEPZA) and 20 other Federal Government agencies have committed to adopting the Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform (RevOP) and the Federal Treasury e-Receipt (FTe-R) to improve transparency and curb financial leakages in public finance management.

The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of NEPZA, Dr Olufemi Ogunyemi, in a statement on Wednesday said the meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday, involving the Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr Taiwo Oyedele, and heads of 21 Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).

The Revenue Optimisation and Assurance Platform, approved by the Federal Executive Council, is designed to eliminate routine financial fraud and enhance transparency in line with the administration’s fiscal reform agenda.

The Minister, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mr Muhammed Sanusi, said the platform would provide a comprehensive framework for tracking government revenue and expenditure.

He noted that 31 MDAs had already been onboarded onto the system, with plans underway to capture additional agencies in the next phase.

“21 more agencies are to be captured next, as the government is working assiduously to achieve 100 per cent financial probity before the end of the year.
“We therefore wish to encourage each of you to, without delay, key into this lofty government initiative to boost financial due process on all fronts,” the minister said.

Dr Ogunyemi said NEPZA was prepared for full compliance, citing the agency’s existing digital financial systems as a strong foundation for integration.

“We are encouraged and feel responsible to follow the Rev.OP. It is especially motivating to observe the president taking clear leadership and responsibility for this vital financial monitoring system, which will help push the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda forward,” he said.
