LAGOS — The Lagos State chapter of the Accord Party has unveiled its candidates for the 2027 general elections, presenting flagbearers for the governorship, senatorial districts, House of Representatives and Lagos State House of Assembly seats.

The party also reaffirmed its endorsement of Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim as its presidential candidate for the 2027 election.

The unveiling ceremony, held in Lagos, featured the presentation of Certificates of Return to 27 candidates across various elective positions in the state.

Speaking at the event, Lagos State Chairman of the Accord Party, Dele Oladeji, said the exercise formally confirmed the party’s candidates and marked the commencement of campaign activities ahead of the elections.

Oladeji, who is also the party’s candidate for Lagos West Senatorial District, described the development as a significant step in positioning the party as an alternative political platform in the state.

He said the party is committed to social justice, improved welfare, security, and inclusive governance, adding that many residents are seeking political change ahead of the elections.

Other candidates at the event also outlined their priorities, including infrastructure development, job creation, improved accountability in governance, and greater inclusion of women in politics.

The party’s Lagos Central Senatorial candidate, Solomon Oladimeji Wahab, urged citizens to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards and participate actively in the electoral process, while calling for credible elections.

The House of Representatives candidate for Badagry Federal Constituency, Joseph Taiwo Jehoshaphat, pledged to focus on youth empowerment and attracting development projects to his constituency if elected.

The Lagos East Senatorial candidate, Blessing Maduka-Sunday, called for increased participation of women in elective positions and stronger policies to support women’s empowerment and economic inclusion.

The party said the presentation of candidates signals the start of intensified mobilisation ahead of the 2027 elections and expressed confidence in its ability to present a strong electoral challenge across Lagos State.

Supporters also expressed backing for Olawepo-Hashim’s candidacy, describing him as a unifying figure with the capacity to drive national development and economic reform.

Party leaders said the growing mobilisation reflects increasing political engagement within the Accord Party as preparations for the 2027 elections continue nationwide.
