The Renewed Hope Ex-Councillors Forum has thrown its weight behind candidates who emerged as flag bearers of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the 2027 governorship elections, pledging an extensive grassroots mobilisation campaign across the country to secure victory for the party and deepen the implementation of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

In a statement issued from its National Secretariat in Abuja and signed by its National Coordinator, Barr. Bashir Ba’ale, the Forum congratulated the APC governorship candidates, describing their emergence as a clear endorsement of their leadership credentials, political experience, and commitment to the party’s progressive ideals.

The Forum said the outcome of the party primaries demonstrated the APC’s commitment to internal democracy and reflected the confidence reposed in the candidates by party members.

“Your emergence reflects the trust party members have in your capacity to deliver,” Ba’ale stated, noting that the Forum’s national, regional, zonal, state, local government, and ward structures were celebrating the development alongside APC supporters nationwide.

Comprising former local government councillors from across the federation, the group said it was uniquely positioned to understand governance challenges at the grassroots and expressed confidence that the candidates, if elected, would drive democratic consolidation, sustainable development, and inclusive prosperity in their respective states.

“We commend your determination to serve your states and the nation. As ex-councillors, we understand governance from the grassroots. We are confident your candidacies will strengthen democratic governance, sustainable development, and inclusive prosperity under the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu,” the statement said.

The Forum also called for unity within the ruling party, urging APC leaders, stakeholders, and supporters to close ranks and rally behind the candidates ahead of the 2027 general elections.

According to the group, party cohesion and collective commitment will be crucial in ensuring electoral success and advancing the APC’s developmental vision across the country.

In a major show of support, the Forum announced plans to activate its nationwide network of former councillors and grassroots political structures in all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory to canvass support for the party’s candidates.

“As part of our contribution, we are mobilising our grassroots network in all 36 states and the FCT to support our candidates from ward level upward,” Ba’ale declared.

He stressed that the success of the Renewed Hope Agenda at the state level would translate into tangible benefits for Nigerians, including improved infrastructure, enhanced security, and expanded economic opportunities.

The Forum further offered prayers for the APC governorship candidates, seeking divine guidance, wisdom, strength, and good health for them as they prepare for the electoral contest.

It reiterated its commitment to issue-based politics and peaceful campaigns, while emphasizing that although it remained neutral during the primary elections, it was now fully committed to supporting all duly elected APC candidates.

The Renewed Hope Ex-Councillors Forum described itself as a national body of former local government councillors dedicated to grassroots mobilisation, voter education, and promoting public understanding of government policies and programmes under the APC-led administration.

It pledged to intensify engagement at ward and community levels as preparations for the 2027 elections gather momentum.
