A leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Delta state, Chief Ejaife Omizu Odebala ,has resigned his membership of the party citing shrinking space for constructive engagement and lack of internal democracy , for his action.
Odebala who was a former Commissioner in the state and ex-member of the Delta state House of Assembly, representing Sapele state constituency , addressed his letter of resignation to the Chairman of his Ward.
“I hereby formally resign my membership of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ward 4, Sapele Local Government Area of Delta State, with immediate effect.
“This decision follows deep reflection on the current realities within the party, both at the ward and broader levels. As a committed stakeholder, I have always believed in progressive ideals, internal democracy, fairness, and people-oriented leadership. Regrettably, recent developments have shown a departure from these core principles.
“The growing concerns around inclusiveness, transparency, and the diminishing space for constructive engagement have made it increasingly difficult for me to continue to identify with the party in good conscience.
“Politics, to me, must remain a vehicle for service, integrity, and genuine representation of the people. Where these values are compromised, it becomes necessary to take a principled stand.
“I remain grateful for the relationships built and the experiences gained during my time in the APC. I wish the party well in its future endeavors. Kindly accept this as my formal resignation “, he said.
