Nollywood actress and content creator, Favour Nwaoma Ogochukwu Onyebuchi, has distributed bags of rice, wrappers and cash gifts to over 100 widows and vulnerable persons.
The actress, popularly known as Favour Oma, carried out the humanitarian outreach at Asaba, Delta State capital, while celebrating her birthday anniversary.
The outreach also featured free medical screenings for diabetes, blood pressure and other health-related challenges affecting the widows and others who attended the event.
Favour Oma dedicated the outreach to the memory of her late mother, Mrs Rose Onyebuchi, who died as a widow.
Speaking during the event, she said:
“I am doing this for the sake of my late mother, Mrs Rose Onyebuchi, who died a widow. I decided to do this even when she is no more here. Giving has been one of my favourites. I love giving.
“This outreach is like one of my dreams come true. Giving, especially to those who don’t have, makes me happy. Because my late mother died a widow, that is why I tagged this programme widows outreach in her memory.”
A prominent Nollywood actress, Ngozi Egeonu, who attended the ceremony, lauded Favour Oma for the humanitarian gesture
Egeonu said: “What she has done to uplift humanity during her birthday is worthy of note and a gesture society should embrace. Celebration will never cease in her life, and her children will also reciprocate her kindness.”
Describing the gesture as worthy of emulation, he prayed for long life, good health and greater success for the celebrant.
One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Okoroafor, expressed appreciation to Favour Oma for the kind gesture.
“With the gifts I got today, life can only get better. Apart from the wrappers, I will use the money given to me to support my small petty business. I pray God enriches her more for remembering widows,” she said.
Highlight of the event which attracted friends, colleagues and well-wishers was the cutting of abirthday cake and the presentation of bags of rice, wrappers and cash gifts to widows.
