ILORIN — An octogenarian chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kwara State, Alhaji Adebayo Abdulazeez, has urged Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to establish a sustainable maintenance mechanism for projects executed by his administration before leaving office.
Abdulazeez, who is the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of HAAZ Group of Companies, said in a statement on Sunday that proper maintenance of infrastructure is essential to preserve the value of the huge investments made by the administration.
According to him, a strong maintenance culture would ensure that the projects delivered by the government continue to serve their intended purposes and stand the test of time.
“It is only a good maintenance culture that can justify the huge investment of the outgoing administration in infrastructure development,” he stated.
The APC stalwart also congratulated the matriarch of the AbdulRazaq family, Raliat Amope AbdulRazaq, on her 100th birthday celebration, describing her as a remarkable woman who has contributed significantly to the socio-economic transformation and political development of Kwara State, the old Northern Region and Nigeria as a whole.
He said her life has been marked by selfless service to humanity, piety and efforts at fostering unity across socio-economic, cultural and political divides.
Abdulazeez further commended her for raising children who have made notable contributions to the socio-economic and political development of the country and prayed for continued good health and strength for her.
The APC chieftain also felicitated Governor AbdulRazaq on the occasion of the Eid-el-Kabir celebration and his seven years in office, praising what he described as the administration’s modest achievements.
He said Kwara State had witnessed significant transformation under AbdulRazaq’s leadership and urged residents to continue supporting the APC in future elections to sustain the state’s development trajectory.
According to him, continuity of progressive governance remains crucial to consolidating the gains recorded by the present administration.
