Keeping Marriage Alive Initiative, KMAI, an NGO focused on protecting the family unit, will mark its 13th anniversary this Sunday. The celebration will hold at Stonefield Basketball Court, Festac Town, Lagos.
Founded by Ngozi “Ngee” Okonkwo and Dr. Richard “Rich” Okonkwo, KMAI says the family is the foundation of any nation, and a broken family structure leads to a dysfunctional society. In the last 13 years, the organization says it has reached over 1.5 million people globally through physical events, online programs, and partnerships.
KMAI’s work covers several flagship programs: Couples Hangout Workshop, Family Conferences, WAM (Woman and Marriage) Global Hangouts, TLM (The Leading Man Platform) Conferences, LoveSkool for singles, Relationship Clinic, Pre-Marital and Post-Marital Counselling, FAB (Family Alive Boot) Camp, KMAI Global Couples Mentoring Cycle, F.I.D.E.L.I.T.Y Movement, and KMAI Children’s Theatre Troupe. Each is designed to sensitize, rebuild, strengthen, and restructure marriages and families for a healthier society.
As part of the anniversary, KMAI will hold its annual Anniversary and Awards Ceremony to honor individuals and groups making impact in their communities through values, work ethic, and family lifestyle. Past honorees include Prof. Pat Utomi and Dr. Mrs. Pat Utomi, the public policy advocate and former presidential aspirant.
“Marking this milestone, we’re calling on Nigerians to join hands in building a society with accountable leadership, a detribalized culture, education for all, equity, and respect for human life — one worth leaving for future generations,” Ngee said.
The event will bring together couples, singles, families, and advocates working to strengthen homes across Nigeria and beyond.
