Supporters and residents across Agege Constituency I trooped out in jubilation following the declaration of Gbenga Abiola popularly known as Agbelebu, chants, celebrations, and widespread excitement greeted what many described as a victory for grassroots politics and people-oriented leadership.

The atmosphere was filled with excitement and solidarity as residents, youths, women, and party faithful celebrated what they described as the triumph of a people-driven movement built on years of grassroots engagement, accessibility, and community impact.

Supporters of the Agbelebu Solidarity Forum maintained that the overwhelming turnout witnessed across several wards, alongside visible video evidences from the exercise, reflected the true mood and decision of party members within the constituency.

Many residents described the development as a reflection of years of consistent grassroots mobilization, youth empowerment, political inclusion, and humanitarian impact associated with the Agbelebu movement across Agege.

Speaking shortly after the development, Gbenga Abiola appreciated supporters, residents, and party faithful for their commitment, peaceful conduct, and belief in the vision of progressive leadership and service to humanity.

“This movement has always been about the people, service, grassroots development, and giving hope to the younger generation. I remain grateful for the overwhelming support and confidence reposed in us,” he stated.

Abiola also expressed deep appreciation to the Speaker, Mudashiru Obasa for what he described as his undeniable contributions to the growth, stability, and development of Agege over the years.

According to him, the Speaker’s leadership and political influence played a significant role in setting the pace for infrastructural growth, political stability, grassroots empowerment, and progressive development within the constituency.

“I remain sincerely grateful to the Speaker for setting the pace for true development in Agege and that is something that cannot be denied by anyone who genuinely understands the growth and transformation the constituency has witnessed over the years,” he said.

He added that despite political differences or aspirations, respect, gratitude, and acknowledgment of past contributions must always remain part of responsible leadership and political maturity.

Abiola also extended an olive branch to leaders and stakeholders within the party, calling for unity, reconciliation, and collective commitment ahead of the general election scheduled for February.

According to him, the task ahead requires cooperation, understanding, and a united front in order to strengthen the party’s chances and sustain progressive leadership within the constituency.

He appealed to party leaders, stakeholders, supporters, and members across all divides to put the primaries behind them and work together in the overall interest of the APC and the people of Agege Constituency I.

“I sincerely call on the leadership of our great party, respected stakeholders, and every committed party member to join hands together as we prepare for the election ahead. At this critical moment, unity, peace, and collective responsibility remain very important for the success of our party and the progress of our constituency,” he said.

He further thanked everyone who stood by the movement throughout the process, including members of the Agbelebu Solidarity Forum, youths, women, elders, supporters, residents, and party faithful across the constituency.

“I deeply appreciate everyone for the support, encouragement, sacrifices, and belief in this vision. The love shown by the people remains overwhelming and I will never take it for granted,” he added.

Supporters across the constituency also expressed optimism that the movement would continue to strengthen youth participation, community development, and inclusive leadership within Agege and beyond.
