An indigenous telecommunications firm, Imose Mobile, has commenced pre-commercial testing of its mobile network as part of plans to roll out full mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) services in the country.

The company disclosed this in a statement on Monday, describing the development as a critical step in its phased entry into Nigeria’s highly competitive telecoms market.

According to the firm, the testing phase will focus on assessing network performance, validating service quality and refining user experience before a nationwide commercial launch. The network is being deployed in partnership with Airtel Nigeria, leveraging the latter’s infrastructure to ensure extensive coverage and high-speed connectivity.

Imose Mobile further revealed that it will operate within the 071803 number range, which has been assigned to support its identity during the testing phase and beyond.

Industry observers say the entry of a new indigenous MVNO could deepen competition and expand consumer choice in Nigeria’s telecommunications sector, which continues to witness growing demand for mobile services.

Speaking on the development, the company’s Marketing Manager, Michael Nene, described the testing phase as a defining moment for the organisation.

“Pre-commercial testing puts us in direct contact with the realities of our network. We are building in the field for Nigerians, with local ambitions at the centre of our decisions. Our partnership with Airtel Nigeria provides a solid foundation, and we are confident of delivering a new standard in mobile services,” he said.

The company added that details regarding its official launch date, service offerings and nationwide rollout would be announced in the coming weeks.

Imose Mobile is an indigenous MVNO focused on providing reliable and affordable mobile services through strategic infrastructure partnerships and innovation tailored to Nigerian users.
