Why we’re supporting Tinubu, Hamzat in 2027 – RETSO

The Remi Tinubu Support Organisation, Southwest and Lagos State chapter, on Wednesday, endorsed President Bola Tinubu for re-election and the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Dr Obafemi Hamzat, as governor in the 2027 general elections.

The endorsements, announced during the inauguration of RETSO ambassadors and the new Lagos State leadership, held in Lagos.

Speaking during the endorsements, Director-General of RETSO, Mr. Yusi Buba, said the group was poised to mobilise over three million supporters for the re-election of Tinubu and the election of Hamzat during the 2027 general elections.

Buba charged that the state executives and ambassadors to remain committed and focused on grassroots mobilisation across Lagos to ensure electoral success.

He noted that RETSO’s mission was to amplify the initiatives of the First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, particularly in the areas of women empowerment, education and support for vulnerable groups.

In his remarks, Southwest Zonal Coordinator, Mr Adegoke Iyiade, said the organisation had activated its grassroots structure to secure victory for both candidates, describing them as architects of progressive governance and people-oriented leadership.

Iyiade commended Tinubu’s economic reforms, including fuel subsidy removal, foreign exchange restructuring and infrastructure development, noting that the president governs with a long-term vision.
He explained that the group also backed Hamzat with equal conviction, describing him as a technocrat with integrity and capacity. calling on the new leadership to remain disciplined, innovative and united.

He, however, urged the newly inaugurated ambassadors to act as “soldiers of progress and missionaries of Renewed Hope” in their communities, stressing that electoral victory would be determined at the grassroots.

He added that RETSO exists to promote the legacy of Senator Oluremi Tinubu, whom he described as the organisation’s driving force.
According to her, RETSO would deploy its ambassadorial network and grassroots strength to ensure Hamzat’s emergence in 2027.

Iyiade said: “The Renewed Hope agenda is underway, and great work needs time to finish. The Southwest is his home base. We will not waver. Lagos will lead, and RETSO will deliver. We state it with clarity and resolve that RETSO Southwest and Lagos State chapter formally and enthusiastically endorse President Bola Tinubu for re-election in 2027.
“Dr Hamzat has served with dedication. He knows Lagos, delivers results and genuinely loves our people. He is the right leader for this moment.

“She doesn’t just occupy space in our national life; she fills it with compassion, vision and results,” saying , By the woman talking to her neighbours, by the youth engaging peers, by the elder guiding the community that is RETSO’s mandate.”

On her part, the Erelu Kuti of Lagos, Abiola Dosumu, urged ambassadors to uphold integrity while empowering those they lead.
She emphasised the need to prioritise women empowerment through economic and educational initiatives, as well as youth development and inclusion.

“The youth are not just leaders of tomorrow; they are partners in progress. Give them platforms to thrive,” she said.
